Extremely Creepy Dolls
A haunted doll is usually a handmade or even manufactured doll or stuffed animal that has somehow become cursed or possessed. If you believe in this sort of thing - or you just are interested in creepy things, you have come to the right place. There are reports of haunted dolls all over the world, but none of them are as strange or terrifying as the ones listed in this blog. So, grab a snack and sit back to read about some extremely creepy dolls.
Letta Me Out
This 200-year-old child-sized doll is one of the scariest by far. He is made of carved wood and real human hair. The doll's owner, Kerry Walton says that she found the doll in the 1970s. He was found inside an abandoned house.
After Kerry brought Letta into his home, a series of strange events began to occur. Items in the home would be moved around, strange markings appeared on the floor, and the children complained of nightmares. They even claimed one night that Letta was talking and moving around. To make things even worse, it is said that dogs act aggressively toward the doll, and the one time Kerry attempted to sell the doll, the strangest thing of all happened. He couldn't seem to get Letta out of the car. The doll is also noted to sporadically scream, "Letta me out!"
Nothing too evil has surrounded Letta, it usually rains if he is taken outside, and pictures have been known to fall off the wall in whatever room he's been in. And he gives off a pulse when held. Since getting the doll Kerry's luck changed but not in a bad way, and his business began to thrive.
The doll is said to have been made by a gypsy man, in the image of his dead son.
Charley
Found locked away in a trunk that was found in the attic of an old Victorian home in 1968 with newspapers dated in the 1930s, and a piece of paper with the lord's prayer written on it, Charley is a rather creepy doll. The family that found the doll put him on display with other dolls they owned. But, soon Charley was moving about the house on his own and swapping places with the other dolls.
It was shortly after this that their youngest daughter claimed that Charley spoke to her. The parents ignored the claim even though their children were terrified of the doll. All of the children refused to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and none of them would go near the doll.
It wasn't until one of the children was covered in scratches, who claimed that Charley did it that their claims held any merit. The parents placed the doll into the trunk, locked it, and put it back in the attic. That's when things went back to normal.
When the children were grown the house was sold, everything from the attic was sold, including Charley. The new owner had similar stories about Charley the Haunted Doll. The doll has changed hands a few times over the years, and there are still reports that he moves around the house. Although, it seems that he is particularly attached to children who seem to trigger his activity.
Ruby
Ruby has been passed down from generation to generation locked away in attics and basements because her owners have been too uncomfortable to have her on display. Ruby possesses the power to move about the house from room to room, but she has another quality as well. Whenever someone picks Ruby up they are overwhelmed by feelings of sadness and even some nausea.
It is believed that Ruby still belongs to her owner, who had passed away holding Ruby. Ruby now is located at The Travelling Museum of the Paranormal and the Occult, where visitors come to visit Ruby and experience her overwhelming sadness.
Mandy
If there is one thing to be said about Mandy - she doesn't play well with others. The previous owner of Mandy claimed to have constantly heard a baby crying from her basement in the dead of the night. After giving the doll to the Quesnel Museum, the crying stopped.
Mandy has been given some strange and very unusual powers it seems. Staff at the museum have been plagued by unexplained events. Lunches would disappear from the fridge, only to turn up in a drawer somewhere, the sound of footsteps when no one is around, and things go missing all the time.
Mandy even has a broken face and a very sinister smile. She has to be placed in a case all of her own because she has a habit of harming other dolls.
Robert
Robert the life-sized doll was the inspiration for "Chucky" in "Child's Play". This doll is said to have been made by Steiff. A toy company that is located in Germany. The doll had been given to the artist, Robert Eugene "Gene" Otto as a birthday present by his grandfather, when he was still a child, in 1904. The doll wears a sailor suit, that is assumed to have belonged to Gene when he was a young child. Of course, there are rumors and speculation that the doll was really a gift from a voodoo-practicing maid who was seeking revenge on the family.
The doll is said to change expressions and is known for moving about the house. Those who lived in the house at the time claimed that Gene would have conversations with Robert, and Robert would talk back. It is believed that Gene himself helped the doll's strange powers manifest by blaming all his childhood problems on the doll. Adults also started to notice odd occurrences.
People remembered that Gene had a strange and unusual attachment to the doll, he would carry it around with him everywhere he went. He also used to talk about the doll as if it were a real person. As Gene grew older, Robert sat in the window on the second floor. Local children swore that the doll would disappear from the window, only to suddenly reappear. None of them would go anywhere near the house.
As the years passed Robert's power became darker. The doll is blamed for a series of misfortune. The doll had remained in the Otto home even years after Gene's death. The new owners of the Otto home kept Robert for twenty years. Visitors to their home swore they could hear footsteps and giggling from the attic while Robert was in the house. The owner claimed that Robert would often move around the house all on his own. After putting up with this for twenty years, the owner donated him to the Fort East Martello Museum. Robert now receives one to three letters a day, many apologies from post-visits at the museum, who have had a series of misfortunes since. Guests are noted to give him sweets, money, and things of such. There is also a 2015 movie based on him called Robert.
