Weird Laws From Around The World

The law, we all have to abide by it. What happens though when the law is just absurd and ridiculous? When you are being arrested for something outlandishly foolish. It might sound like some feeble attempt at a joke, but some places in this world have outdated and bizarre laws that make absolutely no sense!

Laws like this one from Western Australia. "You may not own more than 50 pounds of Potatoes." - Seriously? Now apparently, this law has something to do with limiting imports or something. Still, the law seems kind of foolish, and it possibly needs to be abolished, I mean it's freaking potatoes!

Wait, I thought the potato law was bad. Get this, in Switzerland, it is illegal to flush your toilet after 10 PM. This is considered noise pollution and is unacceptable to flush at night, possibly because people are sleeping. But, come on is the police in Switzerland really going to arrest you for flushing the toilet? That remains to be seen, but I wouldn't want to find out, that's for sure.

Speaking of toilet laws, here is another strange one for you. In Scotland, if someone you don't know knocks on your door and asks to use your bathroom, you have to let them in. To deny anyone the use of the potty is strictly forbidden.

If you live in Rome, Italy then chances are you don't have a pet fish. If you keep a fish in a container, simply for your entertainment, then that is considered animal cruelty and is actually banned. Whether or not you would actually be arrested for this particular crime is yet to be seen. However, there is a good chance you could be so if you ever go to Rome, don't bring your fish!

If you live in Japan you better watch how many cheeseburgers you consume, because they took healthy eating one step further and totally banned being obese in any part of their country. Talk about being harsh!

This one seems a bit old-fashioned because of the times we live in. Not to mention that this law makes absolutely no sense. Apparently, if you are a married woman, who lives in Florida then you better not go sky diving on a Sunday. This is absolutely forbidden, and you could get jail time for it.

If you listen to Canadian radio stations, you may have noticed something very strange about the music. They seem to play a lot of Canadian Artists on their airwaves. That's not your imagination, there is actually a reason for this. There is actually a Canadian law that states 35% of pop music played on Canadian radio, must be Canadian artists.

In Australia, interrupting a wedding or funeral is not only against the law. It is highly punishable. In the country, if you are caught doing either, you will get a fine of up to $10,000 and 2 years in prison. - ouch!

There you have it, some of the weirdest laws around the world, and I'm still pondering over that toilet flushing one!
